Rama V Fine Thai Cuisine

Rama V. Thai Restaurant is set amongst a pool of lotus blossoms, quietly tucked away from the busy district of Kuala Lumpur. It features authentic yet innovative fine Thai cuisine while preserving the best age-old natural Thai flavours and traditions.

Although situated in the city, it resonates a zen-like ambiance coupled up with its vintage decor of Buddha statues, lush greeneries and lotus-filled ponds. It almost feels as if you're on a getaway in the outskirts of Bali when you're in the restaurant. The restaurant is nice with a cosy ambiance. They serve delicious wedding food too. With exquisite, authentic Thai food in a cultured and majestic setting, the idea of having a wedding here is really unique.

i had my wedding luncheon at Rama V and i received a lot of compliments on the food. I am sure Rama V had done a lot of hard work to improve their service alongwith all the feedback gathered. The restaurant manager Zawoo was very helpful and informative, he able to assist us on all the seating arrangement despite we throw them a challenging task to fit in all our guests in the main restaurant instead of taking up the chalet (as we prefer all guests to stay connected). Hazel, the event manager also very helpful to ensure we have a memorable and successful wedding luncheon. A little mistake on the buffet menu (as we request to exchange beef to chicken) but they manage to correct their mistake in a quick manner, therefore it is acceptable for us. A little improvement to be done on the PA system as the microphone doesn't goes well during the event. Last but not least, the food are delicious.

I had my wedding in Rama V 3 weeks ago. Basically I picked Rama V after reading the excellent food reviews. and I wanted a wedding which is far different from the conventional table of 10 chinese wedding. Mr Zawoo and Ms Hazel handled the occasion and my requests in a very professional way. Both of them are very easy going and I'm certainly thankful to the both of you. Also kudos to the whole Rama V team for being just too professional and two thumbs up to the kitchen staff for cooking up a storm on that day
I opted for the Buffet Menu II which consist of a total of 15 items right from appetisers to dessert. We had thai fish cake and soft shell crab for appetisers, mango salad and seafood sald, green curry chicken, pandan chicken, sweet & sour fish, beef with pepper, grilled squid and mix vege for the mains. However the dessert water chestnut dumplings served was a bit too sweet for my taste bud. Being a thai food foodie myself; my wife as well as my family enjoyed each and every single dish served there. I didn't get to eat much as we are just to busy the other night.
We had our wedding ceremony at the restaurant's courtyard. A very picturesque location!

Rama V, located in Jalan U-Thant (near the US Embassy) - location wise, is OK since the road there is usually empty on weekends. What we liked about this venue is the uniqueness of the whole wedding concept/idea. This venue serves Thai food, which is my handsome's favorite food! If you are looking for something unique and memorable, this venue is definitely the perfect choice! Menu has its own specialty, with reasonable prices and good reviews!

It almost feels as if you're on a getaway in the outskirts of Bali when you're in the restaurant. After hearing so much (good things) about this place, I could not wait to experience it for myself.  Chor Ladda was a must-have from Rama V. This was very much talked about in other food blogs and even as you walk in the door step, pictures of this beautifully crafted delicacy can be seen strewn across the advertising board. If you're thinking that this would taste savory (similar to chinese dumplings), you'll be surprised as the peanuts stuffed inside over-powers the taste of the minced chicken and is more on the sweet side. Nonetheless, if you're a "nut-lover", no pun intended, you'll love this. Meal of exquisite, authentic Thai food in a cultured and majestic setting.
